A Taste of Paris House with Guest Chef Phil Fanning
The team at La Bécasse is thrilled to welcome Chef Phil Fanning from our sister restaurant, the Michelin-starred Paris House, to host a guest chef dinner at La Bécasse on the 20th September 2012.
Chef Phil Fanning is cut from the same cloth as our very own Head Chef Will Holland. Like Will, Phil began his training with The 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group at l'ortolan under award-winning chef Alan Murchison. Phil started life at L'ortolan as a Junior Chef de Partie and within two years had risen from a Junior Chef de Partie to a Junior Sous Chef and started to demonstrate his true potential.
In February 2010, the 10 in 8 Group opened their third restaurant, Paris House in Woburn. Having demonstrated his talent and risen through the ranks at l’ortolan, Phil was offered the position of Head Chef at Paris House. From the moment the new Paris House opened it attracted attention and rave reviews. In January 2011, just 10 months after opening, Paris House was awarded a Michelin-star. The restaurant and Phil himself continued to go from strength to strength in 2011. Just five months after receiving a Michelin-star, Phil was awarded a much coveted Acorn Award, which identify the brightest talents in the hospitality industry.
Today, under Phil’s management Paris House continues to thrive and maintains its reputation of excellence. The guest chef dinner with Phil will introduce La Bécasse guests to yet another of 10 in 8's "Rising Stars". Phil's dishes are described as "familiar flavours with a dash of innovation".
